Hello everyone.
Thought I would write you a few lines to keep you up on what is happening here.
Things have been rather busy here.
The months of July and August are full of village religious feasts where we go
out to the villages and celebrate the sacraments. So far we have had over 100
baptisms, 20 marriages, and lots of masses. This coming week we have five more
village feasts |

Dearest of family and friends
It is so nice to be able to write you all.
In Pamparomas we still do not have internet, but I am at the coast lands, and
can write you a short note.
God is very good to us, and we had the joy and blessing of having two wonderful
people from Our Lady of the Angel´s parish in Hermiston Oregon, come and visit
us. Randy and Tammy Smith were with us for a week, and we traveled around the
area seeing the different realities of the farm families here. It was a very
special time, and I was blessed by their visit here to our mission. |

Hi everyone.
In four days Randy and Tammy Smith, from Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Hermimston Oregon will be arriving here.
Randy had the fabulous idea of pumping the water up from the water canals into the extensive dry mountain farm land that so much needs water, and that for so long we have been struggling to find the way to irrigate.
The great news is that some farmers made the trip to Lima with me, and spent the whole day looking for the best, and cheapest way of pumping water, and they found these marvelous pumps that pump 400 meters, and that cost 1000 dolars.
Imagine how much land the farmers will have to grow their products.
Glory to God in the highest, and water to the suffering farmers in Peru.
Thanks for your prayers, and please continue to pray that this miracle happens.
We are so happy too that the students who visited us last year from the Cayman Islands, have raised 1650 dollars, that we will be using to instale this system in a few villages that now have electricity and can use it to pump water.
This is such great news.
The dry mountain lands are owned by the entire community, and can be distributed for the young families, and those who have no land.
Of course the farmers down the mountains might not be so happy, but then perhaps now they will help us build the water reservoirs at the tops of the mountains.
Thanks God, and thank you all.
Fr. David |
