SACRED HEART PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL

Finance Committee Meeting

February 20, 2008


Present: Father Terry Brock, Anita Page, Ken Fuergutz, Tammy Bahm and Frances Nuyten.


  1. Opening Prayer – Father Terry

  2. Financial Statement: reviewed

  3. Correction made:
    Item #2, January 10, 2008 minutes.

  4. Hamer Street Lot: No response from owner

  5. Rectory: Maintenance Committee members suggest we keep present rectory. Information received about a lot available on Best Street. Discussion on the approximate cost of a new rectory and building site, $299,000. Fr. Terry has suggested strongly that a new rectory, be bought or built, should take place due to the present rectory being too big and because the stairs would cause an elderly or physically handicapped priest difficulty.
  6. Parish Pastoral Council: At the January 23, 2008 meeting discussion regarding new roof, and heating and ventilation system for the church took place. Finance Council members suggested we contact Dan Condon or an engineer to look at the building and give us an opinion on the best options. Father Terry said that we need to also consider the letters, ideas and suggestions of parishioners for updates to the church building.
  7.  Camp Morice: A motion to donate $1000.00 to Camp Morice was made by Anita Page, seconded by Ken Fuergutz, all in favour, motion carried.
